Job Description

A Chief Mate on a Supramax vessel is the second‑in‑command on the ship, holding a senior position after the Captain. They are responsible for the overall management of the deck department, including cargo operations, deck machinery, and the vessel's safety. The Chief Mate also acts as the head of various departments, such as cargo, safety, and security.
