Shopify E-Commerce Web Designer & Developer

Job Description

This is a remote position.

Schedule : Monday to Friday, 9 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM (30-minute unpaid break)

Total Weekly Hours : 37.5 hours

Our client is seeking a skilled Shopify E-Commerce Web Designer & Developer to redesign and optimize their e-commerce platform, creating a seamless, high-performing, and visually engaging customer experience. This role offers an excellent opportunity to take ownership of the technical and creative direction of a growing online store while ensuring alignment with the company’s brand and business goals.

Responsibilities

Redesign and optimize the Shopify front-end for an engaging and user-friendly customer journey.

Upgrade back-end systems to boost site performance, speed, and scalability.

Implement advanced e-commerce features such as product customization, dynamic inventory, customer accounts, and payment integrations.

Ensure mobile-first design and cross-browser compatibility.

Streamline the checkout flow to reduce cart abandonment and improve conversions.

Integrate SEO best practices into site architecture to drive organic traffic.

Maintain site security, data protection, and compliance with GDPR / privacy standards.

Collaborate with management to ensure the website reflects brand identity and supports business objectives.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Shopify Web Developer / Designer, ideally with e-commerce projects.

Proficiency with UI / UX design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch).

Strong knowledge of SEO, web analytics, and conversion optimization.

Experience with payment gateway integrations and inventory management systems.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

A creative eye for design paired with solid technical execution.

Preferred (Nice to Have)

Experience in the retail or e-bike industry.

Familiarity with automation tools (CRM, email marketing platforms, customer service chatbots).
