Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services supporting the government, allied partners, and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking a Vehicle Inspector / Tester to support a unique Navy program located on the remote island of Diego Garcia.
Job Responsibilities
The Vehicle Inspector / Tester is responsible for inspecting, testing, and evaluating vehicles and related equipment in accordance with Navy motor transport standards and safety requirements. Responsibilities include conducting pre‑operational, operational, and post‑maintenance inspections to verify vehicle condition, performance, and roadworthiness.
The Vehicle Inspector / Tester performs functional testing of vehicle systems such as brakes, steering, lighting, electrical components, and safety devices. This role includes identifying deficiencies, documenting inspection results, and coordinating with maintenance personnel to ensure corrective actions are completed.
Additional duties include maintaining inspection records, supporting vehicle acceptance and turn‑in processes, assisting with compliance inspections, and ensuring vehicles meet operational and safety standards. The Vehicle Inspector / Tester supports fleet readiness and mission‑critical transportation operations in a remote environment.
