The Corporate Communications Officer will lead and execute both internal and external communication strategies for the hydropower pumped storage project, ensuring clear, consistent, and strategic messaging across all stakeholders. This role plays a critical function in reputation management and crisis communication, supporting the organization in navigating sensitive issues and maintaining stakeholder trust.
Key Responsibilities
Internal & External Communications
- Develop and implement integrated communication plans aligned with corporate and project objectives
- Lead internal communications to ensure alignment, engagement, and timely information flow across teams
- Manage external communications including press releases, media responses, official statements, and public disclosures
- Ensure consistency in messaging, tone, and branding across all communication channels
- Prepare communication materials such as presentations, reports, newsletters, and digital content
Stakeholder & Community Engagement
- Coordinate with government agencies, LGUs, community leaders, and other stakeholders to support project messaging
- Support initiatives that build and maintain strong community relations and social license to operate
- Conduct weekly site visits to Rizal and Pakil, Laguna to gather updates, assess stakeholder sentiment, and support on-site communication needs
Crisis & Issues Management
- Support the development and execution of crisis communication plans and protocols
- Draft timely and accurate responses to sensitive issues, incidents, or reputational risks
- Advise project leadership on communication strategies during crises or high-risk situations
- Monitor media and public sentiment; escalate potential issues and recommend mitigation strategies
Monitoring & Reporting
- Track media coverage, stakeholder feedback, and communication effectiveness
- Provide regular reports and insights to management with recommendations for improvement
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
- At least 5 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or similar role
- Proven experience in internal and external communications and crisis management
- Experience in infrastructure, energy, or construction projects is highly preferred
- Strong writing, messaging, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
- Willingness to travel and conduct weekly site visits to Rizal and Pakil, Laguna
- Highly organized, proactive, and able to work under pressure in dynamic environments
- Proficient in MS Office and digital communication platforms
RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering; PRC license is preferred. Minimum of 10-15 years of engineering experience in electrical and/or mechanical works for hydropower plants, pumped storage projects, power plants, or large-scale infrastructure projects. Hands-on experience with E&M systems such as turbines, generators, pumps, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, auxiliary systems, or balance-of-plant equipment. Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, ASME, ISO, OEM standards, and local regulations). Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and basic project tracking tools (e.g., MS Project or Primavera). Strong understanding of installation, testing, and commissioning processes for E&M equipment. Willingness to work 100% onsite, with flexibility to be assigned in either Rizal or Laguna project locations. Strong coordination, documentation, and communication skills. Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to safety, quality, and project delivery.
