Position Description:
We are seeking a skilled Application Developer & Support Engineer to support, maintain, and
enhance enterprise applications, including learning and supporting CGI’s proprietary IP system CACS X. The role requires strong technical troubleshooting and development skills, with a focus on
production support and continuous improvement. Training on CACS X will be provided, and the
successful candidate is expected to quickly build functional and technical proficiency to support
business and operational needs.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Development Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and enhance application components based on business and technical
requirements
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices
• Support application enhancements, bug fixes, and performance improvements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, architects, and
infrastructure teams
Support Responsibilities
• Provide L1/L2 application support for production and non-production environments
• Diagnose and resolve application, system, and performance issues
• Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes
• Support deployments, releases, and environment maintenance activities
• Ensure system stability, availability, and compliance with operational standards
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
High Priority (Must-Have)
• Strong Linux experience (command line, system administration, troubleshooting)
• Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Shell, Bash, Python, or similar)
• Solid foundation in programming and application support
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience
Medium Priority (Required / Strong Advantage)
• Experience with Database Administration (DBA) concepts (SQL, performance tuning, backups,
recovery)
• Exposure to Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including deployment and environment
management
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience
Low Priority / Nice to Have
• Knowledge of Apache Kafka (event streaming, messaging concepts)
• Experience or familiarity with Camunda (workflow or BPM solutions)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a support environment
• Good communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Willingness to work in shifts or on-call support (if required)
• Experience working in Agile or ITIL-based environments is a plus
