Sources, identifies, interviews and hires candidates for positions onboard Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings fleet. Utilizes all available sourcing tools and advanced techniques including networking, referrals, direct recruiting and web based methods.
Sources candidates and partners with recruitment vendors to fill vacant positions using all media resources including but not limited to: online employment boards, shipboard posting program and alternative media venues. Screens incoming and sourced resumes and reviews all applications to prepare for behavioral-based structured interviews.
Conducts job interviews in person, phone and/or via web cam connection. Describes the job, provides a realistic job preview, gathers critical information about the candidate and manages applicant expectations. Assess applicant’s qualifications based on work experience, behavioral interview results and overall fit for shipboard employment, department and company. Select applicants to match open positions based on applicant’s skills and experience and the criteria set forth by operations management, job description and other reference/assessment tools. Makes employment offers according to company guidelines.
Regularly monitors candidate status to ensure proper rotation and assess for recruitment needs.
Performs quality control assessment of Hiring Partner office and record-keeping procedures for compliance to company and regulatory requirements. Audits approved pool and deployed employee files for maintenance of accurate, up to date information in compliance recordkeeping.
Works closely with the scheduling team to identify projected openings, recruit direct and/or coordinate bulk recruiting with Hiring Partners to ensure projected needs will be met.
Prepares and tracks measurement reports that include open positions, recruitment results and pool numbers to track Hiring Partner and direct hire rates, retention and turnover.
Perform other job-related functions as assigned.
Works in partnership with up to 30 International Hiring Partners to ensure complete success of bulk recruitments.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field of study preferred. PHR certification preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources with a concentration in recruitment. Cruise line or hospitality experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Knowledge and experience with visas, travel documents, required licenses, and background check process is required.
Knowledge of effective recruitment techniques, global market trends and bulk hiring.
Good presentation and platform skills in delivering informational sessions about the company.
Knowledge of or ability to learn Workday (ATS system) is desired.
Basic level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel in order to develop correspondence, presentations, emails and basic reports.
Good written and verbal communication skills required in order to effectively interact with applicants, Hiring Partners, Personnel Managers onboard and shore side team members within the organization.
Organizational skills in order to meet deadlines while working in a multi-task environment. Ability to manage high volume of open positions and screen candidates in a professional, efficient and effective manner to meet the requirements of the department and ship.
Good interpersonal skills in order to establish and maintain a strong business relationship with operations departments, Hiring Partners and candidates.
This position requires that you have the ability to travel (up to 20%) internationally and domestically, as well as, the ability to work occasional weekends and evenings.
