iSupport Worldwide is hiring a Cost Accountant III to support a US-based client. This role focuses on cost accounting, general ledger support, balance sheet reconciliations, and product cost and margin analysis. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate cost data, support financial planning activities, and drive process improvement initiatives. The role follows US GAAP standards and supports US business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Accounting, Controls, and Analysis
• Assist in day-to-day cost accounting functions, including tracking, analyzing, and reporting product costs and margin results
• Prepare and post journal entries related to inventory, reserves, accruals, and cost adjustments
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts such as inventory, work-in-progress (WIP), and accruals in accordance with US GAAP and corporate policies
• Ensure proper cost flow through COGS and investigate variances
Financial Reporting and Planning Support
• Perform cost analysis to identify trends, variances, and cost drivers
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities by analyzing cost inputs and assumptions
• Prepare cost reports and summaries for management review and decision-making
Data, Modeling, and Reporting
• Collect and organize cost data from multiple sources to support analysis and reporting
• Build and maintain cost models and reporting templates using Excel
• Identify discrepancies in cost data and recommend improvements to accuracy and efficiency
Process Improvement and Collaboration
• Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements within cost accounting operations
• Participate in initiatives related to cost allocation and expense tracking
• Coordinate with procurement, operations, and finance teams to ensure accurate cost calculations
• Communicate cost-related findings clearly to stakeholders
Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience supporting US-based companies
• Strong general ledger background, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement support
• Experience with product costing, margin analysis, and cost drivers
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and formulas
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
• Experience in a manufacturing, product-based, or inventory-driven environment
• Experience with ERP systems or cost accounting software
• Exposure to freight, logistics, and operational cost analysis
