Reporting to: Group Sales Manager
The Regional Sales Manager – Top Accounts and Modern Trade is responsible for driving regional sales performance, collections, and customer service across General Trade - Top Accounts, and Modern Trade channels. The role develops and executes strategic sales plans, leads and develops a high-performing sales team, and builds strong relationships with key accounts to achieve revenue targets, expand market presence, and ensure sustainable business growth.
Other responsibilities include the following:
- Develops and executes channel-specific sales strategies to achieve regional targets.
- Monitor sales performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Builds and maintains relationships with key customers, strategic partners, and stakeholders
- Drives account growth through joint planning and execution.
- Oversees collections and ensures adherence to credit and collection policies.
- Coordinates with Credit and Collection teams to manage receivables.
- Ensures timely and effective execution of sales programs, promotions, and trade activities across channels.
- Collaborates with Trade Marketing and Operations teams for the creation of customized promotions local accounts and ensures successful execution of all programs.
To succeed and grow in this role, you will be required to meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or any related field.
- 5–7 years of progressive sales experience in FMCG, consumer goods, or a related commercial environment, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role managing both General Trade and Modern Trade accounts
- Strategic Sales Planning - ability to analyze market data, identify opportunities, and develop channel-specific sales strategies that drive volume, revenue, and distribution targets across Top Accounts and Modern Trade
- Trade Execution and In-Store Excellence - expertise in planning and overseeing flawless execution of trade activities, promotions, and merchandising standards in line with brand guidelines and channel expectations
- People Leadership and Coaching - demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate a field sales team; capable of setting clear performance expectations, providing regular coaching feedback, and building team capability over time.
- Data Analysis and Reporting - ability to interpret sales data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable corrective plans and performance reviews.
