As the Hardware Development Engineer, you will support the design, sustainability, and continuous improvement of hardware products used in Power and Water Solutions. In this role, you will help ensure product quality, reliability, and compliance throughout the product lifecycle by collaborating with cross‑functional and global teams on component selection, design changes, testing, and qualification.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Identify and evaluate alternative electronic components to support cost optimization, end‑of‑life mitigation, quality improvement, and enhanced manufacturability
Support sustaining engineering activities by analyzing, documenting, qualifying, and testing design changes on released hardware products
Create and process engineering change orders and introduce new components using product lifecycle management systems to enable manufacturing readiness
Review and verify component and lifecycle changes to assess impact on functionality, performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance
Participate in and present design proposals during design reviews with local and global stakeholders
Develop and build prototypes based on approved design change proposals using established layout guidelines
Perform electrical and functional testing on prototypes and document test outcomes
Collaborate with supply chain, manufacturing engineering, quality teams, and external suppliers to maintain and continuously improve product quality
Assess and manage the impact of design changes on agency certifications and compliance requirements
Develop and execute component qualification test plans, maintain accurate test records, and support approval of alternate sources

For This Role, You Will Need:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or any equivalent field.
Foundational knowledge of electronic components, circuit analysis, and hardware design principles
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical partners
Experience working collaboratively with teams across different regions, cultures, and time zones
Comfort adapting to changing priorities and responding to time‑sensitive engineering needs
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
Familiarity with electrical safety and regulatory standards
Experience with PCB design or review tools such as PADs Powerlogic, CAM, or similar platforms
Exposure to product lifecycle management or electronic manufacturing database systems
Hands‑on experience supporting manufacturing or supply chain teams from a technical perspective
Knowledge of microcontrollers, system‑on‑chip devices, FPGA, or CPLD technologies
Understanding of industrial control systems and their hardware requirements
