The Site Electrical Engineer is responsible for managing all electrical engineering aspects of the project, including electrical equipment installation works for PV, LV, MV, and HV system, and testing & commissioning, ensuring that construction activities align with design specifications, safety regulations, and project timelines.
1. Oversee all electrical construction and installation activities, including testing & commissioning of electrical systems.
2. Ensure construction processes comply with technical drawings, design specifications, and industry standards.
3. Conduct inspections to maintain quality control across all electrical engineering works.
4. Identify, report, and resolve any non-conformities or defects in construction.
5. Work closely with project managers, design engineers, and other site professionals.
6. Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
7. Monitor and report progress, ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget.
8. Assist in preparing and reviewing work schedules, resource allocation plans, and risk assessments.
9. Enforce site-specific safety protocols and conduct regular safety inspections.
10. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory safety requirements.
11. Prepare reports for management, summarizing progress, and any challenges encountered.
12. Maintain accurate records of daily site activities, material usage, and equipment logs.
1. Minimum of 3 years of expertise in the power utilities, renewable energy, or large scale construction industry. This role requires strong technical acumen, site management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
2. Licensed Electrical Engineer
3. Proficiency in construction methodologies and techniques.
4. Familiarity with industry-relevant software.
5. Knowledgeable in solar PV construction works including related testing & commissioning methodology and requirements for each equipment.
6. Knowledgeable in MV and HV substation construction works including related testing & commissioning methodology and requirements for each equipment.
7. Strong understanding of electrical engineering standards, codes, and regulations.
8. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
9. Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
10. Experience in ground mounted solar power plant rolling terrain is an added advantage.
11. Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) and Construction Occupational Safety and Health (COSH) certifications an added advantage.
