Job descriptionVideo Editor Status: Part-time now (10 to 25 hrs/week), scaling to full-time. Pay: Starting around $10/reel. Flexible scheduling. About Us Brand strategy, PR, and storytelling firm. We work with high-end wellness clients (doctors, longevity specialists, founders) on visibility and positioning. Editing is the bottleneck. We are producing more raw footage than she can post. We need editors who can take long-form interview material and turn it into a steady output of polished short-form and long-form content, fast and clean, without supervision. What you'll actually do You'll receive raw interview and lifestyle footage, usually 4K, often 1 to 3 hours per file, and turn it into ready-to-post deliverables. Every cut needs: Captions on every video, 100% of the time. Captions must be video-rendered (burned in or styled in editor), not still graphics dropped over video. No exceptions. B-roll , video-based, not still images. High-quality, visually clean, on-brand. Subtle motion graphics where they elevate the cut (lower thirds, text reveals, transitions). Restrained, not flashy. Polished cut style. Clean click-style transitions, tight pacing, no jarring cuts. Think mid-tier YouTube interview channels, not viral TikTok jump-cut chaos. Color and audio at a baseline level. Levels matched, no clipping, no muddy audio. Format breakdown: Short-form, under 3 minutes: portrait orientation (9:16). Posted to Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook. Long-form, over 3 minutes: landscape orientation (16:9) only. YouTube rejects portrait above 3 minutes. Long-form lives on YouTube and sometimes Facebook. Thumbnails: required for YouTube uploads. Not required for other platforms. Time-consuming so we'll factor that into hours. What you will NOT do: You will not post anything anywhere. You will not have access to Mirit's Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, or X. We've had hack concerns and platform access stays with Mirit. You will not write captions or scripts. You'll receive them or pull them from the source footage. You will not manage a content calendar or scheduling tool. You will not shoot. This is post-production only. Tools Required: Premiere Pro or CapCut (working knowledge of at least one, ideally both) A machine that can handle 4K source files comfortably Bonus, not required: After Effects (for motion graphics that go beyond CapCut's range) DaVinci Resolve (especially for color) We're not asking you to shoot a movie. The bar is "clean, fast, consistent." Speed and reliability matter more than fancy effects. Volume and cadence: 3 days per week minimum of active editing. 1 to 3 finished pieces per day is the realistic baseline. Up to 10 per day on heavy interview-drop weeks. We'll need multiple editors at any given time to handle volume and avoid bottlenecks. This is not a solo gig. File handling: Source files are typically 4K and often hours long. You need reliable upload/download bandwidth and enough local storage to handle multi-GB transfers. Files will be shared via Google Drive or similar. Deliver in the formats specified per platform (we'll provide a quick spec sheet on first job). Who fits Strong instinct for short-form. You watch it, you make it, you understand what holds attention in the first 2 seconds. Comfortable with high volume. You can produce 5 to 10 short-form cuts in a day without quality dropping. Reliable. You hit deadlines. You don't disappear for 3 days mid-project. Self-directed. You can take an interview and find the highlight moments without being told which timestamps to cut. Detail-oriented on captions, audio levels, and brand consistency. Doesn't need to be a "senior editor." Skill with shorts and a clean style matters more than years of experience. Who doesn't fit Editors who need every cut spec'd out frame-by-frame. Editors whose default style is loud, gimmicky, jump-cut-heavy. Wrong brand fit. People who can't handle 4K source files on their machine. Anyone expecting to shoot, write, or be involved in strategy. This is editing only.
