Studio Director (Fil-Chi)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Studio Director to oversee the overall operations, technical execution, and strategic development of a production studio in Manila, Philippines. This role is responsible for managing studio operations, lighting and production technologies, team leadership, project execution, and resource planning to ensure high-quality output aligned with gaming and entertainment industry standards.

The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in studio production, lighting design, live streaming, filming, gaming-related content production, and technical management, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Studio Operations Management

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the studio, ensuring efficient and high-quality execution of filming, production, and content creation activities.
• Establish, implement, and continuously optimize studio operational policies, systems, and workflows to improve productivity, collaboration, and execution efficiency.
• Ensure operational excellence across production schedules, technical readiness, and content delivery standards.

2. Lighting & Production Technical Management

• Lead studio lighting design, setup, and execution to ensure all productions meet creative, technical, and visual quality standards.
• Develop customized lighting and shooting strategies for different production formats, including:
• Film and video production
• Live streaming and broadcast content
• Gaming and esports-related productions
• Multimedia and digital entertainment content
• Ensure technical consistency and high production value across all studio outputs.

3. Equipment & Technology Management

• Manage the selection, operation, maintenance, and upgrading of production equipment, including:
• Cameras and filming equipment
• Lighting systems
• Audio recording equipment
• Post-production and editing tools
• Identify and implement emerging production technologies such as:
• Virtual production systems
• XR/AR (Extended Reality/Augmented Reality) technologies
• Cloud-based production platforms
• Continuously improve production quality and operational efficiency through technical innovation.

4. Team Management & Cross-Functional Coordination

• Lead and manage studio personnel, including lighting technicians, photographers, videographers, technical support teams, and related production staff.
• Assign tasks, monitor performance, and conduct evaluations to ensure high team productivity and accountability.
• Collaborate closely with directors, producers, game designers, artists, and technical teams to ensure project deliverables align with business and production objectives.
• Foster a collaborative, creative, and performance-driven working environment.

5. Project Execution & Quality Control

• Participate in project planning, pre-production discussions, and technical solution development to ensure smooth project execution.
• Oversee the entire production lifecycle, from preparation to final output, ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance with gaming industry standards.
• Ensure all deliverables meet established creative, operational, and technical requirements.
• Monitor workflow efficiency and proactively resolve production issues.

6. Budget & Resource Management

• Develop and manage annual studio budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of personnel, equipment, facilities, and operational resources.
• Monitor and control production costs while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Maximize cost efficiency and resource utilization to support business objectives.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Broadcasting, Film Production, Photography, Lighting Design, Multimedia Production, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of studio management experience, preferably within:
• Gaming or esports production
• Broadcast studios
• Film, streaming, or entertainment production environments
• Prior experience managing production teams and large-scale studio operations is highly preferred.

Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in lighting design, lighting setup, and production techniques for filming, live streaming, and gaming-related content.
• Deep understanding of gaming industry production workflows, creative standards, and content development requirements.
• Proven experience collaborating with game development, design, art, and technical teams.
• Knowledge of relevant regulatory and compliance standards, including familiarity with the requirements of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation.
• Experience with production technologies such as:
• Virtual production systems
• XR/AR technologies
• Unreal Engine and Unity (preferred)
• Cloud-based production platforms
