Role Overview
The Client is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Business Development & Market Research Specialist. As the company expands its footprint across seven Australian states and the New Zealand market, we need a "Research Detective" to map out the fitness landscape. This is a high-impact support role designed to beef up the top of the sales funnel by identifying new business opportunities and independent gym locations that fall outside traditional data-scraping methods.
Key Responsibilities
Gym Market Intelligence: Perform deep-dive research to identify new gym openings, independent studios, and leisure centers across all seven Australian states and New Zealand.
Fact-Finding & Data Compilation: Intuitively fact-find essential location data, verify opening ETAs, and profile decision-makers to build a comprehensive "Pulse Map" of the independent market.
Database Management: Compile and maintain highly accurate lead lists, ensuring there is no "double up" with existing business or the current database.
Sales Enablement & Support: Prepare resources for meetings, set up new accounts within the ERP/Teams environment, and assist in setting up opportunities for the Strategic Partnerships lead.
Top-of-Funnel Nurturing: Manage initial outreach via email sequencing to "warm up" leads and facilitate the setting of initial calls and appointments.
Strategic Researcher: Proven ability to navigate niche markets and uncover "unindexed" business information beyond standard LinkedIn scraping.
CRM/ERP Proficiency: Experience working within collaborative environments (Microsoft Teams/Planner) and a willingness to learn legacy ERP systems.
Market Adaptability: While focused on Australia and New Zealand, candidates with experience in the advanced, high-scale US fitness market are highly encouraged to apply.
Communication Excellence: Professional written English for managing email sequences and account management support.
Entrepreneurial Mindset: Ability to function effectively within a flat, multi-layered organizational structure where specialized functions often overlap.
