This role leads a hybrid team of Business Analysts and Quality Assurance professionals (10 or more members) within the Engineering and Business Analysis Team. The position ensures alignment between business requirements and technical delivery while maintaining quality assurance across initiatives. The BA Lead is responsible for translating business needs into actionable system requirements and overseeing QA processes to ensure high-quality delivery of insurance technology solutions.
A. Business Analysis
1. Lead the requirements gathering and analysis process across business units, ensuring business needs are well-defined, traceable, and aligned with strategicobjectives.
2. Translate complex business and regulatory requirements into functional and technical specifications for system development and integration.
3. Collaborate closely with stakeholders—including business users, project managers, architects, and developers—to ensure clarity, feasibility, and alignment of requirements.
4. Oversee the creation and maintenance of Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Specification Documents (FSD), and Process Flow Diagrams.
5. Drive the prioritization and backlog management of business requirements, ensuringtimelyand value-driven delivery of enhancements and projects.
6. Provide domainexpertisein life insurance products, policy administration systems, and regulatory compliance, ensuring that solutions meet both operational and industry standards.
7. Facilitaterequirementsvalidation sessions, user acceptance testing (UAT) coordination, and sign-off activities with business stakeholders.
8. Identify process gaps and propose business process improvements or digital transformation opportunities in collaboration with IT and business leaders.
9. Mentor and coach Business Analysts to strengthen analytical and communication capabilities, ensuring consistent standards and documentation quality.
B. Quality Assurance
1. Supervise QA activities to ensure thorough test planning, execution, and reporting across assigned projects.
2. Review and approve test plans, test cases, and test strategies to confirm alignment with business and system requirements.
3. Ensure defect management and tracking via JIRA (and JIRA Xray), collaborating with development teams fortimelyresolution.
4. Promote and enforce QA best practices, including automation opportunities and continuous improvement initiatives.
5. Identifyand mitigate quality risks early in the project lifecycle to minimize business impact.
6. Ensure compliance with data privacy, information security, and insurance regulatory standards throughout the testing process.
7. Support the evaluation and implementation of QA tools, frameworks, and platforms tooptimizeefficiency and test coverage.
8. Drive alignment between the BA and QA functions to ensure end-to-end traceability from requirements to test validation.
