We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Performance Testing to lead end-to-end performance testing and performance engineering engagements. The ideal candidate will be responsible for project planning, governance, stakeholder management, risk management, and ensuring that Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) are clearly defined, tracked, and achieved.
This is a leadership-focused role that does not require deep hands-on technical expertise but does require a strong understanding of performance testing concepts, methodologies, and business impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end delivery of performance testing engagements across projects and programs.
- Define project scope, timelines, deliverables, and governance structures.
- Drive stakeholder communication, executive reporting, and status updates.
- Manage client relationships, escalations, and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with development, infrastructure, database, and business teams.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and ensure timely resolution.
- Ensure adherence to performance testing lifecycle standards and quality benchmarks.
- Manage project financials, resource planning, and effort tracking.
- Ensure clear definition and stakeholder sign-off of Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs).
- Validate NFR alignment with business objectives and peak load expectations.
- Track and report NFR compliance metrics including response time, throughput, stability, and scalability.
- Lead performance readiness reviews and go/no-go discussions.
- Ensure coverage of load, stress, spike, and endurance testing scenarios.
- Support capacity planning and infrastructure readiness discussions.
- Identify and escalate performance risks impacting SLAs and customer experience.
- Translate performance outcomes into business-focused insights and recommendations.
- Drive performance testing best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8–12 years of overall IT experience.
- Minimum 5 years of project/program management experience.
- Experience managing performance testing or non-functional testing programs.
- Strong understanding of the performance testing lifecycle.
- Good knowledge of NFRs, including:
- Response Time
- Throughput
- Scalability
- Stability
- Availability
- Understanding of performance testing types:
- Load Testing
- Stress Testing
- Spike Testing
- Endurance Testing
- Ability to interpret performance results from business and SLA perspectives.
- Familiarity with dashboards, reporting, and performance trend analysis.
- Strong stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills.
- Excellent presentation and executive reporting capabilities.
- Strong risk management and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with JIRA, Excel, and project tracking tools.
- Understanding of SDLC and Agile delivery methodologies.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
