Job Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Product Development Engineer to lead the design and development of innovative products from concept through production. This role combines product design, prototyping, testing, compliance management, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure products meet quality, performance, regulatory, and commercial requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, production, marketing, quality assurance, suppliers, and certification bodies to bring high-quality products to market.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop product designs from concept to production, including detailed design documentation, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM) preparation.
  
• Create and refine product concepts, prototypes, and production-ready designs while ensuring manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and functionality.
  
• Collaborate with engineering, production, marketing, and other stakeholders to meet functional, aesthetic, and commercial objectives.
  
• Monitor product development progress, quality standards, and project deliverables, resolving issues and ensuring compliance with industry and client requirements.
  
• Create, test, and evaluate prototypes, working closely with R&D teams to optimize product performance.
  
• Conduct and oversee testing of materials, components, and finished products to ensure durability, reliability, and functionality.
  
• Analyze testing results, implement design improvements, and validate product performance.
  
• Coordinate with overseas quality assurance teams regarding product certifications, testing requirements, compliance matters, and quality standards.
  
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and safety standards and maintain required product certifications, including electrical, gas, water, Watermark, GEMS, and WELS certifications.
  
• Liaise with testing laboratories, certification authorities, and external auditors while coordinating product audits and approvals.
  
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, suppliers, regulatory bodies, customers, and other key stakeholders.
  
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on product innovation, sustainability, quality enhancement, and cost reduction.
  

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
  
• Proficiency in CAD software, SolidWorks, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop.
  
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, product development, and design-for-manufacturing principles.
  
• Experience in product prototyping, testing, validation, and certification processes.
  
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities with a logical approach to decision-making.
  
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance, product certification, and quality assurance requirements.
  
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and general business software applications.
  
• Self-motivated, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities and schedules independently.
