Data Analytics Officer

The Data Analytics Officer is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting financial and operational data to support informed decision-making, streamline business processes, and enhance customer experiences. The role involves generating reports, identifying trends, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights. Additionally, the officer ensures compliance with regulations, optimizes performance metrics, and contributes to the bank’s strategic goals through effective data-driven solutions.

Responsibilities

• Performs in-depth data analysis across banking functions such as cash management, remittance, trade, and supply chain to generate actionable insights
• Leads the creation and execution of business intelligence strategies to translate complex data into meaningful insights
• Monitors KPIs to assess the effectiveness of business strategies and recommends adjustments based on data-driven insights
• Ensures all data analytics activities comply with banking regulations, industry standards, and internal governance policies
• Oversees efforts to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of data across systems and sources
• Works closely with IT, finance, marketing, and customer service to identify data needs and deliver accurate reports
• Leads analytics projects from concept to implementation, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and timely completion
• Manages project timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Management, Economics, Business, or Data Analytics (Master’s or Doctorate preferred)
• 3 or more years of experience in data analytics, preferably in the financial services industry
• Strong knowledge of database languages, ETL processes, and data visualization tools (SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
• Experience with databases and data warehouses (IBM DB2, MySQL, MongoDB, AWS Redshift)
• Expertise in predictive analytics, financial modeling, and risk assessment
• Familiarity with data governance standards, compliance regulations, and data security practices
• Highly analytical with keen attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
• Effective communication skills to present complex insights clearly to stakeholders
