Leads Agile Development squads with autonomy and accountability across a number of projects/platforms.
Position Responsibilities:
- Supports 1-2 teams on a single backlog (AMS or PSS)
- Experience being on multiple Scrum teams in a variety of different contexts (different team sizes, different projects, different cultures, co located vs. distributed, etc). Coaches different levels of hierarchy through agile principles & practicesConducts Agile Events, including sprint planning, daily stand ups, sprint reviews and retrospectivesEducates the squads on the adoption of Agile practices and identifies Agile Team improvement opportunities.- Focuses squads on value creationIdentifies obstacles to team/s performance; facilitates resolution and escalates where necessaryActively participates in sprints and partners with Product Owners to enable the delivery of prioritized features- Reinforces target agile behaviorsActs as a servant leader to the team (not the ‘bossʼ)Proactively provides real-time feedback to keep delivery on track and address issues as they arise
- Member of the Scrum Master's CommunityRepresents Manulife values without failFacilitates and actively participates in MITDC LACE Agile events, CoP's, workshops and townhallsIdentifies obstacles to team performance; facilitates resolution and escalates where necessaryImplements to squad teams project initiated by the LACE team
Required Qualifications:
At least 2-3 years with experience as a Scrum Master delivering complex technology solutions
Strong working knowledge of key aspects of role
Staying abreast of developments in own technical discipline and able to recognize and translate these to own working environments
Possesses analytical skills and appreciates complex situations but only able to achieve partial resolution
Knowledge of Agile planning and tracking tools
Good verbal and written communication; able to effectively articulate technical vision, possibilities, and outcome
