Job Description 1: Instrument Technician (Oil & Gas)

Position Type:Short-Term Contract

Overview

Experienced Instrument Technician needed for short-term contract to install maintain and calibrate instrumentation systems in hazardous oil and gas environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Install maintain and calibrate instruments (pressure temperature level flow transmitters)
• Troubleshoot instrumentation malfunctions
• Ensure HAZEX and hazardous area compliance
• Document all maintenance activities
• Support commissioning/decommissioning activities

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years oil and gas instrumentation experience
• ValidHAZEX Certificate
• Hazardous Area Certificate
• Experience in classified areas (Zone 0 1 2)
• Valid drivers license

Desirable:

• ATEX/IECEx certification
• PLC/SCADA experience
• Confined space entry certification

Working Conditions

• Short-term contract: Specify duration
• Shift work including weekends
• Offshore/onshore environments
• Physical demands: climbing bending standing
• PPE required at all times

• Perform electrical inspections testing and repairs
• Conduct safety checks and insulation testing
• Ensure HAZEX and hazardous area compliance
• Document all maintenance activities

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years oil and gas electrical systems experience
• ValidHAZEX Certificate
• Hazardous Area Certificate
• Experience in classified areas (Zone 0 1 2)
• Valid electrical trade certification
• Valid drivers license

Desirable:

• ATEX/IECEx certification
• VFD and motor control experience
• Confined space entry certification
