The Gym Manager role encompasses overseeing the daily operations of the client's fitness facility to ensure a safe, efficient, and exceptional experience for members.
This includes managing staff, driving membership growth and retention, maintaining the facility and equipment, and ensuring high standards of customer service.
By leading operational excellence and fostering a positive fitness environment, the Gym Manager contributes to the client's continued success and growth in the health and wellness industry. Responsibilities Oversee the daily operations of the gym, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for members and guests.
- Manage and supervise gym staff, including fitness coaches, front desk personnel, and maintenance staff.
- Develop staff schedules, monitor attendance, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Drive membership growth through sales initiatives, promotions, community engagement, and retention programs. Ensure excellent customer service by addressing member inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly.
- Monitor gym performance metrics, including membership sales, retention rates, revenue, and customer satisfaction.
- Manage branch budgets, expenses, inventory, and operational costs to achieve profitability targets. Ensure all fitness equipment and facilities are properly maintained and compliant with safety standards.
- Coordinate with marketing teams on campaigns, events, and promotional activities to attract new members.
- Implement and enforce company policies, operational procedures, and health and safety regulations.
- Prepare regular reports on branch performance, staffing, membership statistics, and operational updates.
- Foster a positive fitness culture that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and member engagement.
- Desirable Skills & Experience Must-Haves Must be based in Metro Manila, preferably within or near Quezon City, or willing to reliably commute to the assigned gym location. At least 2–3 years of experience in gym, fitness center, hospitality, retail, or branch operations management.
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams.
- Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
- Experience in sales, membership acquisition, and retention strategies.
- Knowledge of gym operations, fitness equipment, facility management, and safety protocols.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage budgets, expenses, and operational performance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and basic reporting tools.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays when necessary.
- Nice-to-Haves Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Physical Education, Exercise Science, or a related field.
- Experience working in a commercial gym, fitness chain, wellness center, or sports facility.
- Personal Trainer, Fitness Instructor, CPR, or First Aid certification.
- Knowledge of fitness trends, member engagement programs, and wellness initiatives.
- Experience using gym management software, CRM systems, or membership management platforms.
- Background in digital marketing, social media promotions, or community-building activities.
- Experience managing multiple branches or fitness facilities.
- Strong understanding of financial forecasting, revenue management, and business development.
