Job Summary
To support the Electrical Team in all activities associated with Project covering the implementation of the electrical works
Duties and Responsibilities
- Study and understand the electrical design comprising of schematics, layout drawings, specifications, construction methodologies for the Boiler, STG and BOP systems within the coal-fired powerplant
- Assist the T&C manager to prepare the TOP’s - Testing and Commissioning Turnover packs
- Gather all drawings, plans, schematics, O&M manuals, spare parts list, equipment lists, WIR from site inspections, test reports and all other documentation for compiling the TOP’s
- As directed by Lead Electrical Eng, attend inspections of works using the WIR and witnessing of testing activities ensuring all comments and results are properly recorded and signed off.
- Assist in the coordination of electrical work with other work disciplines
- Cross check that all ongoing electrical works have the required valid PTW in place.
- Check all test equipment that is being used as valid calibration certificates
- Monitor progress of all T&C activities to support the T&C Manager
- Set up a TOP Tracker based on the TOP list
- Update activity accomplishment, issues and concerns for each TOP to support the T&C Manager
- Flag any quality issues seen in the electrical works and prepare SOR’s
- Inspect the works and record punch list before handover of systems for commissioning
- Perform other tasks as may be assigned from time to time
Technical Competencies and Skills
Understanding process control and automation, Good knowledge of instrumentation and control software and tools, Ability to read and understand electrical schematics layouts diagrams and designs, Familiarity with the Coal-Fired Power Plant Systems and Equipment, Participate in problem-solving and have strong attention to detail, Ability to manage several ongoing tasks
