About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior SAP BI Engineer to support and enhance enterprise reporting and analytics solutions built on SAP BusinessObjects (BO) and SAP BW/4HANA.

This role is ideal for professionals who enjoy a combination of development, production support, problem-solving, and technical leadership. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of business-critical reporting platforms while collaborating with analytics and data engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

SAP BusinessObjects Development & Support

• Develop and maintain Web Intelligence (WebI) reports.
• Design and manage Universes using Information Design Tool (IDT).
• Troubleshoot report performance, scheduling, and refresh issues.
• Support SAP BusinessObjects platform administration through CMC.
• Ensure the stability and availability of reporting environments.

SAP BW/4HANA Development

• Develop and maintain BW/4HANA data models.
• Create and optimize BW Queries for reporting and analytics.
• Utilize BW Modeling Tools (Eclipse) for development activities.
• Troubleshoot data extraction, transformation, and reporting issues.
• Support data pipelines and reporting dependencies.

BI Operations & Continuous Improvement

• Monitor BI platform performance and scheduled processes.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive solutions.
• Support change deployments and transport management activities.
• Contribute to process improvements, automation, and platform reliability initiatives.
• Maintain operational documentation and support procedures.

Technical Leadership & Collaboration

• Provide guidance on SAP BI development and support best practices.
• Mentor team members and promote knowledge sharing.
• Participate in solution design discussions and technical reviews.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams supporting modern analytics platforms.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with SAP BusinessObjects 4.3
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Web Intelligence (WebI)
  • Universe Design using IDT
  • Central Management Console (CMC)
• Strong SAP BW/4HANA development experience
• Experience with:
  • ADSOs
  • Composite Providers
  • BW Queries
  • BW Modeling Tools (Eclipse)
• Strong understanding of dimensional data modeling and star schema concepts
• Strong SQL skills
• Experience supporting enterprise BI production environments
• Experience with SAP ChaRM and transport management processes
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex reporting and data issues

Preferred

• SAP Analysis for Office
• SAP BusinessObjects Data Services (BODS)
• Databricks or Spark-based analytics platforms
• SAP-to-cloud data integration experience
• Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical initiatives
