SAP Materials Management Consultant

Job Qualifications: Must have a bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Engineering or related program. Must have at 2 years of experience with SAP/SAP Programs for Supply Chain Must have experience in systems implementation support, roll-out, upgrade and maintenance. Must have planning and task organization skills for efficient execution of activities.

Primary Function: As a business systems architect, this role has an overall responsibility for information technology that enables Petron's supply chain functions. This role is designed to be techno-functional in nature, with an equal emphasis on understanding both technical aspects and functional processes related to the supply chain.

This role is accountable for the design, development, operations, and maintenance of the applications used by Petron's Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, and Inventory Management departments with emphasis on SAP Materials Management module. The role requires a deep understanding of the functions of these departments and how they contribute to the overall business performance of Petron. Additionally, this role involves an understanding of the stakeholders involved in Petron's supply chain business systems.

Job Responsibilities: Deep technical and functional understanding of supply chain solutions used by Petron with emphasis on SAP MM Module - including their capabilities, strengths and weaknesses, as well as the associated vendor landscape. Understand how those supply chain systems are used in the context of the business processes of the Company. Understand the Refinery, Supply, Operations and CTSG and Procurement division's priorities in enabling Petron's overall business objectives, and understand how business applications contribute to the achievement of those business objectives. Visibility on the mix of SAP and non-SAP systems used to enable the supply chain functions of Petron, and develops a point of view on the ideal suite of solutions that should be used - i.e., identifies which system should enable which function, identifies which systems should be rationalized, etc. Communicates IT's point of view to the business on issues, challenges and opportunities related to the business system/s in scope. Coordinates with the business representatives to regularly align the IT roadmap against the division/department's directions and priorities. Translates the prioritized roadmap into a service design (combination of IT Projects, Program Changes, Service Requests and Incident Requests). Works with the business to recommend metrics and SLAs that need to be achieved. Regularly reviews the suite of applications under his/her span of responsibility and proposes ways to improve IT services. Understands the functional and technical features of the business application/s in scope. Accountable for timely and quality delivery of service requests and incident requests in accordance with SLAs and quality expectations. Manages IT service delivery to customers. For system incidents, applies structured problem solving techniques (issue isolation, root cause identification) to methodically resolve issues. Fosters a continuous improvement approach in identifying longer term solutions for recurring incidents. Oversees the timely and quality delivery of system change requests (i.e., system enhancements, modifications, new functionalities) and implementation projects related to the systems in scope. Applies rigorous project management and systems development lifecycle (SDLC) principles in executing IT projects and system changes, thereby minimizing risks and system incidents. Coordinates closely with IT security professionals to design well controlled and secure IT systems. Ensures compliance with IT policies. Addresses application layer IT security vulnerabilities and remediates internal control weaknesses. Applies system quality, testing and validation strategies to minimize defects and issues in the system. Understands and applies controlled IT processes. Identifies and suggests resourcing needs (staff augmentation, managed services, vendors) required to deliver business systems services. Manages bills, prepares and reviews contracts related to applicable vendor/s in a timely and quality manner. Builds relationships with counterparts in the business. Oversees staff augmentation and vendor - driving results, managing their delivery, resource management Provides timely, clear and accurate reporting of status, progress and issues. Manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain an organized way of executing roles and responsibilities. Performs other related jobs and special projects that may be assigned by the Corporate Business Systems Manager.
