Geotechnical Engineer
The Geotechnical Engineer is a part-time on-call position that will support our Global Technical Support Center (GTSC) in assessing soil and rocks physical mechanical and chemical properties to design foundations retaining structures and earthworks.
Key responsibilities:
- Study the soil rocks and other materials that make up the surface and subsurface of the Earth
- Determine the suitability of the ground for use in construction projects and other engineering projects by analyzing its physical and mechanical characteristics
- Site investigations by collecting soil and rock samples for analysis
- Responsible for environmental remediation and waste management
- Study the properties of soil and rock in order to minimize spread of contaminants
- Ensure the safety and stability of construction and infrastructure projects and protect the environment.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications To be successful in the role:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineer
- Must be a licensed engineer
- At least 5 years of geotechnical experience
- Proficient in AutoCAD and other Microsoft Office Applications
- Proficient in English both written and oral
