Software Engineering Lead/Manager

Software Engineering Manager Location: Makati City (Onsite) Work Schedule: Morning Shift Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead engineering teams while remaining actively involved in software development and technical decision-making. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who can drive scalable system design, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality technology solutions. Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor one or more software engineering teams, providing technical guidance, coaching, and performance support. Design and develop scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions aligned with business requirements. Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, and technology leaders to define technical roadmaps and delivery priorities. Participate in architecture discussions and make key technical decisions for complex systems and applications. Write code, perform code reviews, and ensure adherence to engineering standards and best practices. Support Agile development processes, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, and release planning. Drive continuous improvement in software quality, development processes, automation, and deployment practices. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful project delivery. Encourage innovation and foster a collaborative, high-performing engineering culture. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in a Software Engineering Manager, Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or similar leadership role. Strong hands-on experience in backend development using Java, Golang, Node.js, Scala, or other object-oriented/open-source technologies. Experience with React, TypeScript, or JavaScript is preferred. Strong knowledge of SQL, including MySQL or PostgreSQL. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern containerized application environments. Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI, or similar. Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and service-oriented architecture. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse management, procurement, or inventory systems is an advantage but not required. Preferred Skills Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to balance hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities. Passion for building scalable systems and developing engineering talent.
