Cost Accountant — Where the Numbers Meet the Bottom Line

What you'll own
Cost accounting & analysis — You'll support the day-to-day cost accounting activities of the business, helping ensure product and operational costs are accurately recorded and analyzed. You'll prepare cost analyses, monitor inventory and cost allocations, investigate variances, and provide insights into cost trends and business performance. Your work will help ensure financial accuracy while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
Financial reporting & month-end support — You'll assist with month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and cost-related reports. You'll help maintain accurate financial records, ensure compliance with accounting policies, and support the integrity of cost accounting data across the organization.
Budgeting & FP&A support — You'll partner with Finance to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. You'll help analyze cost drivers, monitor spending patterns, and provide data and insights that support business decision-making and financial performance.
Data analysis & reporting — You'll leverage Excel and financial systems to gather, analyze, and interpret data from multiple sources. You'll identify trends, investigate discrepancies, and prepare meaningful reports that help stakeholders better understand costs and operational performance.
Cross-functional collaboration — You'll work closely with Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to gather cost-related information and ensure accurate reporting. You'll help stakeholders understand financial impacts and serve as a trusted partner in supporting informed business decisions.
Process improvement — You'll contribute to ongoing efforts to improve reporting, strengthen controls, and enhance the efficiency of accounting processes. You'll look for ways to increase accuracy, simplify workflows, and improve visibility into business costs.
You'll thrive here if you have
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
2-3+ years of direct Cost Accounting experience
5+ years of overall Accounting, Finance, or Financial Analysis experience
Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory accounting, and variance analysis
Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP
Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Experience working with ERP systems; Oracle and/or SAP preferred but not required
Manufacturing, distribution, retail, or operational accounting experience is a plus
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
