Consultant – Maintenance (Underground Maintenance)

Job Description

The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.

OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Consultant – Maintenance (Underground Maintenance), who responsible for managing the maintenance of underground mobile equipment across the operation. The position includes managing the implementation of work management processes and developing maintenance programs and projects to maximize plant availability and reliability. Ensuring the correct parts, tooling and equipment required are available and engaging and managing contractors to help deliver the expected outcomes. The role will report to the Manager - Asset Maintenance.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Manage the execution of the underground mobile and fixed plant maintenance activities based on maintenance plans and strategies, and breakdown priorities.
• Ensure all work is executed to the highest level of quality through coaching and development with supervisors and technicians through in field work reviews and interactions
• Review maintenance plans to ensure that resource allocation and scheduled timeframes are sufficient
• Review PM Tasks/strategies in the Pronto CMMS for accuracy, detail and relevance
• Ensure all work is completed with the approved scheduled timeframe
• Ensure root cause analysis is completed for all equipment failures, work quality issues and operational incidents
• Mentor and develop maintenance personnel to ensure best practice operations through on the job training opportunities
• Play an active role in formal development programs for apprentices, trades people and maintenance leadership personnel

Qualifications

Educational Background:

• Heavy Equipment Mechanical or Auto Electrical Trade
• Post trade studies in Engineering or Asset and Maintenance Management (preferred)

Work Experience and Background:

• 15 years mining experience
• 5 years as a superintendent

Specialization/License:

• Professional Driver’s License
