Job Description

The Estimator for Concrete Foundations will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, material takeoffs, and bid proposals for concrete foundation projects. This role requires strong technical knowledge of construction drawings, concrete work processes, and industry standards. The estimator will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure competitive and precise bids that align with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Review architectural, structural, and civil drawings to identify scope of work.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for concrete foundations, including excavation, formwork, reinforcement, and concrete placement.
• Prepare cost estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
• Develop bid proposals and ensure compliance with client specifications and industry standards.
• Coordinate with project managers and site engineers to validate estimates and adjust for field conditions.
• Track and update estimates based on change orders, RFIs, and addenda.
• Maintain historical cost data and update pricing databases for future projects.
• Communicate directly with clients and vendors to clarify scope, pricing, and project requirements.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in concrete foundation estimating or structural construction projects.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings.
• Strong knowledge of concrete construction methods, reinforcement detailing, and foundation systems.
• Experience with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, AutoCAD, Excel).
• Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and safety practices.

Preferred Qualifications
