About the Role:

The Project Delivery Engineer – SD-WAN is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of managed SD-WAN solutions across Cisco Meraki, Palo Alto SD-WAN, and Aruba EdgeConnect environments. The role is accountable for translating customer requirements into deployable technical solutions, completing configuration and implementation activities, leading cutovers, and ensuring successful operational handover to support teams.

Working closely with Solution Architects, Project Managers, Operations teams, vendors, and customer stakeholders, the engineer will deliver high-quality network outcomes across the full project lifecycle. The role requires strong technical expertise in enterprise networking, SD-WAN technologies, cloud-managed networking platforms, and customer implementation methodologies.

As a Project Delivery Engineer – SD-WAN, you will:

Solution Discovery and Design

• Conduct customer requirements gathering and technical discovery activities.

• Analyse customer network environments and existing WAN architectures.

• Produce Detailed Design Documents (DDD), implementation plans, migration runbooks, and test plans.

• Validate technical designs against architectural standards and customer requirements.

• Identify implementation risks, dependencies, and remediation plans.

SD-WAN Build and Configuration

• Create and onboard customer organisations and tenants within SD-WAN management platforms.

• Configure SD-WAN overlays, routing policies, segmentation, security policies, and site templates.

• Build standardised deployment templates across multiple customer sites.

• Configure and validate failover, resiliency, and security requirements.

• Prepare devices and configurations for deployment.

Deployment and Migration

• Perform device staging and pre-deployment testing.

• Execute migration and cutover activities in accordance with approved implementation plans.

• Implement changes within customer production environments while minimising service disruption.

• Perform validation testing and service acceptance activities.

• Provide hypercare and post-implementation support following deployment.

Operational Handover

• Complete operational transition activities with support teams.

• Ensure all deployment documentation is updated and handed over.

• Remove temporary engineering access following acceptance into operations.

• Support knowledge transfer activities and operational readiness reviews.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Work collaboratively with project managers, architects, operations teams, vendors, and customers.

• Provide regular implementation status updates and technical guidance.

• Escalate risks, issues, and dependencies appropriately.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, deployment standards, and reusable templates.

Cisco Meraki SD-WAN

• Customer organisation creation

• Site template development

• Security and firewall policy implementation

• Device staging and deployment

• Cutover and transition support

Platforms: Meraki Dashboard, Paradigm, Client VPN, ServiceNow

Palo Alto SD-WAN

• Customer tenant creation

• Policy and template deployment

• Device onboarding and staging

• Migration and cutover execution

• Post-implementation support

Platforms: Strata Cloud Manager

Aruba EdgeConnect SD-WAN

• SD-WAN design and configuration

• Overlay and policy deployment

• Appliance staging and provisioning

• Migration and operational transition

• Customer support and acceptance activities

Platforms: Cloud Portal, Orchestrator, Radius Server, Appliance Manager

What You Need

Non-negotiables :

Education & Experience

• Minimum 3 years' experience in network engineering, implementation engineering, or ICT project delivery roles.

• Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Information Technology, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.

• Proven experience implementing enterprise network solutions for business customers.

• Experience delivering SD-WAN, LAN, WAN, routing, switching, or network security projects.

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of:

  • Routing and switching

  • WAN technologies

  • VPN technologies

  • Network segmentation

  • Firewall and security policies

  • Enterprise network design principles

• Hands-on experience with one or more of:

  • Cisco Meraki SD-WAN

  • Palo Alto SD-WAN

  • Aruba EdgeConnect SD-WAN

• Experience using cloud-managed networking platforms.

• Experience performing network migrations and production cutovers.

• Ability to create detailed technical designs and implementation documentation.

Professional Skills

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capability.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.

• Strong customer engagement and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred skills/expertise:

Certifications

• Cisco Meraki Certification.

• Aruba EdgeConnect Certification.

• Palo Alto Networks Certification.

• CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent networking certification.

Additional Experience

• Exposure to SASE/SSE solutions including Prisma Access, Netskope, or Zscaler.

• Experience with identity and access management integrations including Azure AD and SSO.

• Knowledge of ITIL and change management processes.

• Experience with scripting, APIs, or network automation.

• Background within telecommunications, managed services, or enterprise ICT delivery organisations.
