About the Role

The Supply Chain Transformation (Trading Terms) role is responsible for improving supplier trading terms to strengthen the organisation’s working capital position. The role will develop and execute supplier engagement strategies covering payment terms and minimum order quantities (MOQs), lead commercial negotiations, and coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure supplier changes are implemented in line with broader supply chain and cost optimisation initiatives.

The role requires strong commercial negotiation, supplier relationship management, working capital, and transformation experience, particularly within product-based businesses with international supplier networks.

What You'll Do:

• Develop and execute an engagement strategy to improve supplier trading terms, including payment terms and minimum order quantities (MOQs).
• Identify opportunities to improve working capital through supplier commercial arrangements.
• Engage suppliers to renegotiate trading terms in accordance with an agreed engagement strategy.
• Lead commercial discussions and confidently negotiate within established guidelines and approval parameters.
• Escalate complex or sensitive supplier negotiations to the appropriate stakeholders when required.
• Coordinate supplier engagement with COGS optimisation and supplier consolidation initiatives to ensure activities are sequenced appropriately.
• Work closely with Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, and other relevant stakeholders to obtain required approvals and align commercial decisions.
• Monitor supplier negotiations and transformation activities against agreed stage gates, milestones, and escalation frameworks.
• Track and report realised and expected benefits from improvements to supplier trading terms.
• Maintain accurate documentation of supplier commitments, agreed terms, approvals, and implementation status.
• Identify risks, delays, and barriers to achieving trading-term improvements and recommend appropriate actions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives relating to supplier management, working capital, and supply chain processes.

Qualifications

Non-negotiables:

• 10+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or Procurement transformation.
• Experience working with B2B product-based businesses with Chinese suppliers.
• Experience working with Australian businesses.
• Experience in supplier commercial negotiations, particularly around payment terms and MOQs.
• Experience delivering working capital improvement initiatives.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional transformation or supply chain initiatives.

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Business, Procurement, or a related field.
• Experience in supplier consolidation or optimisation initiatives.
