Job description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Philippine-licensed lawyer to work as a Remote Paralegal for a U.S.-based accounting and tax firm. The successful candidate will support the firm with legal research, document preparation, regulatory correspondence, client coordination, deadline tracking, and other legal and administrative matters related to U.S. accounting, taxation, and business compliance. The ideal candidate has previous experience working with a U.S. accounting, tax, or professional services firm. Strong written and spoken English, excellent judgment, confidentiality, and the ability to work independently are essential. Key Responsibilities Provide legal and administrative support for matters involving U.S. accounting, taxation, and business compliance. Draft, review, proofread, and organize legal correspondence, agreements, resolutions, authorizations, and other business documents. Assist with business registrations, entity formation, annual filings, and corporate record maintenance. Conduct legal and regulatory research related to tax, business, employment, and compliance matters. Assist with preparing responses and supporting documentation for IRS, state tax agency, and government correspondence. Review client documents for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and compliance with firm requirements. Communicate professionally with clients regarding documents, deadlines, appointments, and outstanding requirements. Coordinate with accountants, tax professionals, clients, government offices, and other involved parties. Monitor filing deadlines, client follow-ups, regulatory requirements, and outstanding requests. Maintain accurate, confidential, and well-organized electronic client records. Prepare summaries, reports, trackers, and internal documentation using Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Handle sensitive financial, legal, and personal information with discretion. Assist with additional legal, compliance, and administrative duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor of Laws, Juris Doctor, or equivalent law degree. Must be a licensed attorney and member in good standing of the Philippine Bar. At least 1–2 years of relevant legal, paralegal, compliance, tax, or accounting-firm experience. Previous experience supporting a U.S. accounting, tax, or professional services firm is required. Familiarity with U.S. tax documents, IRS correspondence, business entities, or regulatory filings. Excellent written and spoken English. Strong legal research, drafting, proofreading, and document-review skills. Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple clients, assignments, and deadlines. Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and follow-through skills. High level of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Ability to quickly learn accounting, tax, document-management, and client-management systems. Comfortable working full-time during U.S. Pacific Time hours. Reliable computer, stable internet connection, and professional remote workspace. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with U.S. CPAs, accountants, enrolled agents, or tax attorneys. Familiarity with U.S. federal and state tax procedures. Experience handling IRS notices, entity formation documents, corporate records, or compliance filings. Knowledge of U.S. business entities, including LLCs, partnerships, S corporations, and C corporations. Experience using tax, accounting, legal, or practice-management software.
