Product Designer

Position: Product Designer (Manufacturing & Production)

Schedule: 6:00 AM-3:00 PM Philippine Time

Location: Quezon City

About the Role

We are seeking a technical and detail-oriented Product Designer to support the development and delivery of custom products.

This is a manufacturing-focused design role, rather than a concept or visualization-focused industrial design position. You will take custom projects from pricing and design development through to production-ready documentation and manufacture.

The ideal candidate has strong SolidWorks and AutoCAD skills, understands manufacturing processes, and can develop practical designs that are accurate, commercially viable, and ready for production.

Key Responsibilities

Product Design & Development

• Develop and adapt custom products using existing product platforms, systems, and components.
• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, configurations, and manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks.
• Develop customer-approved concepts into production-ready designs.
• Produce customer approval drawings and presentation drawings.
• Ensure designs meet manufacturing, quality, and project requirements.

Manufacturing Documentation

• Prepare detailed production and fabrication drawings.
• Create Bills of Materials (BOMs), cutting lists, and assembly documentation.
• Prepare AutoCAD cutting files and CNC-ready drawings.
• Develop accurate and consistent production documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain drawing standards, templates, product libraries, and technical data.

Pricing & Project Support

• Assist with pricing custom products and project-based solutions.
• Determine material, hardware, component, and quantity requirements.
• Support projects from quotation through production release.
• Work with production and procurement teams to ensure designs are practical and commercially viable.

CNC & Manufacturing

• Develop CNC cutting files and efficient nesting layouts.
• Consider material utilization and production efficiency when developing designs.
• Apply Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) principles.
• Provide technical support to production teams and resolve manufacturing-related design issues.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve product design, manufacturing efficiency, and documentation.
• Contribute to product development and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Essential

• Strong experience using SolidWorks, including:
  • 3D modelling, Assemblies, Configurations, Detailed manufacturing drawings
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Proven experience designing products for manufacture.
• Experience producing production-ready technical drawings and documentation.
• Experience with custom or project-based product design and pricing.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, hardware, and DFMA principles.
• Experience preparing BOMs, cutting lists, and assembly documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Desirable

• Experience in one or more of the following:
  • Commercial furniture
  • Commercial interiors
  • Joinery
  • Architectural products
  • Workplace solutions
• CNC manufacturing experience, particularly CNC routing and nesting.
• Experience with customized products for commercial projects.
• Exposure to Australian manufacturing standards, products, or production environments.

Pricing → Customer Approval → Design Development → Production Drawings → CNC/Cutting Files → BOM → Manufacture

This role is particularly suited to a designer with an engineering or manufacturing mindset who enjoys solving practical design problems and seeing their work progress from drawing to finished product.

Please include a portfolio demonstrating relevant technical and manufacturing work, such as:

• SolidWorks models and technical drawings
• Manufacturing and production drawings
• Assembly drawings
• Custom product development
• CNC cutting or nesting work
• BOMs, cutting lists, or other production documentation, where permissible

Portfolios demonstrating technical and production-focused work will be prioritised over portfolios focused primarily on concept development, rendering, or visualisation.
