About the Role

As a Full-Stack PHP Developer, you will help build and improve business-critical applications, with a strong emphasis on backend engineering. You will primarily work with PHP and Laravel while contributing to frontend development using React, integrating external services, and improving the performance and reliability of existing systems.

You will work across a diverse application landscape, contributing to architectural improvements, API development, and cloud-based deployments. This role is ideal for a seasoned developer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, making sound engineering decisions, and taking ownership of features from development through production.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance application features across backend services and frontend interfaces using PHP, Laravel, and React
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs, connect external platforms, and ensure reliable communication between systems
• Improve database structures, optimize queries, and maintain data integrity across relational databases
• Implement automated tests and follow software engineering practices that support stable, maintainable releases
• Investigate production issues, resolve defects, and identify opportunities to improve application performance and reliability
• Contribute to asynchronous processing and event-based communication between application components
• Maintain and enhance applications operating across different architectural patterns and cloud-hosted environments
• Apply sound software design principles to create modular, maintainable, and loosely coupled applications
• Review code, share technical feedback, and contribute to consistent development standards across the team
• Work with product and engineering colleagues to clarify requirements, break down tasks, and estimate development effort
• Participate in Agile planning, daily team discussions, sprint reviews, and continuous improvement activities

Requirements

• At least 6 years of professional PHP development experience, with relevant hands-on work demonstrated in recent projects
• A minimum of 3 recent years of commercial experience developing applications with Laravel
• At least 3 years of practical React experience building and supporting production frontend features, with backend engineering as your primary strength
• Strong understanding of relational databases, API design, third-party integrations, and secure application development
• Experience writing automated tests, reviewing code, and maintaining software quality in production environments
• Familiarity with Agile delivery practices, including Scrum or Kanban, sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives
• Working knowledge of event-driven systems, distributed applications, and modern software architecture patterns
• Exposure to cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, and application deployment in AWS or comparable environments
• Understanding of domain-oriented design, modular development, and strategies for reducing dependencies between components
• Ability to explain technical decisions and describe your specific contributions to projects you have worked on
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently while collaborating with a distributed team
• Comfortable taking ownership of complex engineering tasks in a fast-paced, internationally oriented organization

Work Setup

• Work arrangement: Hybrid 3x RTO in BGC, plus the option to work 2 weeks from abroad
• Work Hours: Mid-shift, 11AM to 8PM PHT
