Our growing law firm has a full-time need for an associate attorney available now and we’re looking for the right professional to join our team.

You will have the opportunity to learn from senior associates and litigation associates on legal issues and will provide legal counsel to existing clients. You’ll also be responsible for performing legal research, drafting documents, and keeping client files up to date. Compensation : 8 - $15 hourly

Responsibilities :

Draft documents such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, settlement agreements, and contracts to be used proceedings and contract negotiations
Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and / or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel with the help of senior associate attorneys
Communicate with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently
Organize and maintain files to ensure accuracy for other attorneys, paralegals, and staff
Assist clients in determining a proper solution to legal conflicts and determine the best course of action

Qualifications :

Successful completion of the bar exam

Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law school

Solid communication skills and problem-solving skills required in order to work with clients, staff members and senior attorneys

Ability to work with senior attorneys to best serve client needs and grow our client base

Must have at least 10 years of experience in a law firm. Please apply only if you have at least 10 years of experience as an attorney.

Must have excellent computer skills, using MS Word, MS Excel, MSPowerPoint, etc.

Excellent research skills using Lexis Nexis or Westlaw to look up cases from Texas and federal courts.

Excellent legal writing skills to draft motions, pleadings, and demand letters.

Be able to manage cases with responsibility and dedication.

Must have a dependable home office with a fast computer, reliable internet and backup internet. Must also have a printer, speakers, and microphone.

Must be willing to work in the Central Time zone.

Note - We are looking for candidates from the Philippines only.

Note - A lawyer not licensed in Texas cannot be referred to as a lawyer. Due to this requirement, our firm refers to associate attorneys as legal managers, and the job designation is legal manager.
