Quality Assurance Manager

Job Summary

The basic duty and responsibility of the position is to contribute to the delivery of quality and safety of product consistent with the vision, mission and values of Gourmet Food Manufacturing Corporation.

The QA Manager is responsible for the provision of basic Quality Management System to achieve total customer satisfaction and continuous improvement of processes.

Duties and Responsibilities :

1. Plans and supervises the daily QA activities in the plant.

2. Prepares and ensures timely submission of QA reports.

3. Initiates improvement projects related to product quality.

4. Ensures consistent implementation, training and maintenance of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Warehousing Practices and Food Safety Programs.

5. Handles product complaints in compliance to set procedure.

6. Coordinates with other department heads and / or supervisors concerning quality aspects.

7. Interacts with vendors and suppliers concerning the quality of products, systems and processes.

8. Ensures strict implementation and monitoring of product quality and standard

9. Enforces disciplinary actions as may be necessary to QA staff in accordance with existing company policies and guidelines

10. Prepares training plan for all QA staff.

11. Evaluates performance of QA staff.

12. Ensures compliance to established HACCP / Food Safety Program.

13. Responsible in internal and external audits.

14. Responsible in equipment calibration (outsourced).

15. Prepares / approves Certificate of Analysis and Letter of Guarantee.

16. Performs other duties / tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

Working Condition :

In the course of performing the duties of the position, the QA Manager shall work in generally comfortable environment. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) shall be strictly reinforced inside the GFMC premises especially in the production / processing area. The use of PPE is an important food safety standard.

Job Requirements / Competencies :

Academic / Professional Qualifications :

College Graduate preferably Science Related Course (BS Food Technology, BS Microbiology, BS Biology, BS Chemistry, BS Chemical Engineering)

Relevant Experience :

With at least three years and more of relevant working experience in quality control or quality assurance work.

o Knowledgeable in GMP, HACCP, Quality Management System, Food Safety and Quality Assurance

o Knowledgeable in Food and Beverage Manufacturing Operations

o Computer literate (Microsoft Office applications and other computer related basics)
