Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.
Transportation is responsible for the movement of materials and products between suppliers, manufacturing, warehousing and the customer. Management of transportation assets and systems to gain greater service, cost efficiency and optimization of processes.
This position is responsible for the timely communication of all carrier and transportation updates to the Operations teams, and the final customer. This job provides analytical support for all Transportation management functions to ensure cost control, service levels, information flow, and enforced compliance.
- Analyzes transportation costs, negotiates carrier rates and determines service levels and compiles carrier outbound and inbound summary reporting.
- Collaborates and leads quarterly business review process with carrier partners.
- Prepares month end inbound and outbound accruals relative to freight plan.
- Analyzes regional activities and interprets operation results to develop solutions to help drive profitability and growth.
- Works with regional leadership to provide guidance as necessary to optimize transportation systems, methods, procedures and costs.
- Partners with our national customer care team to determine root causes of service level defects and works with the broader organization to provide customer focused transportation solutions.
- Generates daily / weekly / monthly reports relating operation and expense to plan performance.
- Maintains department KPI’s and measure for continuous improvements.
- Assist Transportation Engineers in communicating delivery impacts for final mile customers
- Collaborate with courier partners in resolving missing deliveries
- Communication delivery impacts to final mile customers
- Respond to inquiries from Customer Service regarding deliveries
- Manage Shipment Override database for customer closures
- Provide feedback on current process improvements
- Work in tandem with team members on Case Management
- Maintains department KPI’s and measure for continuous improvements.
- 1-3 years of experience of Customer Service or Transportation related field, preferred
- Willingness to train with Senior Analyst of daily tasks
- Strong work ethic, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook GMBs
- Ability to build strong collaborative relationships, communicates effectively in English, and influences outcomes for internal and external customers.
- Available 11 : 00 am-7 : 30 pm EST
- Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
- Experience in distribution / transportation operations
- Basic understanding of courier network
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment
