Overview
Power BI's core strength lies in having high-quality data. We are seeking Lead Consultants who specialize in Power BI with a strong focus on data management. Candidates should possess advanced expertise in Power BI and its data components, including PowerQuery / M, DAX, and dimensional modeling, along with experience in basic report design. Familiarity with traditional SQL Server (data warehouse design, SSIS, SSRS) and DirectQuery is advantageous. Additionally, you should understand Power BI licensing models and be capable of working with clients to help them select the most suitable licensing options for their needs. Experience with Databricks in developing, implementing, and optimizing data pipelines and workflows is required. Strong communication skills are essential for engaging regularly with clients, their teams, and technical specialists such as database developers and software engineers. Your excellent analytical, problem-solving abilities, and understanding of both technical and business aspects of business intelligence, along with a commitment to staying current with Power BI updates, will make you a strong candidate. Responsibilities
- Conduct discovery sessions with clients to identify reporting needs
- Collaborate with clients on Power BI licensing options, understanding the benefits and limitations of each platform
- Design efficient star schema data models for Power BI, including proper calculated columns and measures
- Develop Power BI solutions for clients, integrating data from multiple sources, building reports and dashboards, and creating data elements with DAX and source queries
- Support clients in deploying Power BI solutions to the Power BI service, including gateways, DirectQuery, DataFlows, and data refreshes
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related fields; or equivalent work experienceOver 5 years of experience working with data and business intelligence solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem (SSRS, Power BI, PowerPivot, PerformancePoint) or other BI tools (Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Qlik, SAP)Minimum of 4 years of leadership experience in business intelligence and analyticsProficient in T‑SQL, data modeling, and reporting using Power BI or similar toolsExperience creating comprehensive Power BI reports with linked content, drill‑downs, and nested parametersAdvanced DAX skills for dynamic measure creationKnowledge of data mashups and transformations using Power Query / M languageHands‑on experience with Databricks for developing, implementing, and optimizing data pipelinesAbility to communicate visual choices and interactions effectivelySkilled in designing user interfaces that are user‑friendly and require minimal training for end‑usersCapable of gathering requirements and conducting focus groups to identify business process improvementsProfessional Skills
