I. PURPOSE
The Associate Lawyer plays a key role in providing legal support to the company by assisting in contract drafting and review, negotiating agreements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and facilitating dispute or case resolution. This role contributes to risk management and helps safeguard the company’s legal and business interests.
II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists superior in the preparation, drafting, and review of various legal arguments and other relevant legal material and reports.
- Prepares, drafts, review, and negotiates various contracts and agreements including but not limited to IT contracts, service agreements, supply agreements, and memoranda of agreement (MOAs), ensuring legal compliance while aligning with business objectives.
- Supports contract negotiations by identifying legal risks, proposing revisions, and advising on contract terms to protect the company’s interests while maintaining commercial viability.
- Maintains, updates, and organizes legal documents, ensuring proper record-keeping and accessibility.
- Prepares and generates legal reports for internal stakeholders and presentations.
- Conducts thorough legal research and gathers all relevant data and information to support contract negotiations, dispute resolution, and other legal matters.
- Provides legal advisory services by offering clear, practical, and strategic guidance on corporate, regulatory, and contractual matters.
- Participates in and leads legal initiatives, including process improvements, compliance programs, and risk management efforts.
- Keeps superiors informed of significant developments in ongoing cases and contract negotiations.
- Assists in trial and hearing preparations, including document review, case strategy discussions, and compliance with procedural requirements.
- Makes court appearances when necessary.
- Ensures the confidentiality of all client and company-related information.
- Provides legal support to superiors in various corporate and regulatory matters.
- Notarizes documents as required.
III. QUALIFICATIONSA. Minimum Education
Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B.) Bachelor’s degree in law.Must have passed the Philippine Bar Examination and be a member in good standing of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP).B. Minimum Experience / Training
