Database Administrator (MSSQL)

Job Description:

• Experience: 5 to 8 years
• Extensive experience in SQL Server 2008R2/2012/2014/2016/2019 instance installation, configuration and security implementation
• Skills in designing, managing, and supporting database for 24/7 business-critical applications
• Extensive Experience of SQL Server Administration, upgrades, migrations, SSIS and SSRS
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, resource contentions, connectivity issues, security issues etc.
• Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, Profiler, SSMS, DMVs, system procedures and other troubleshooting tools to analyze and tune databases and SQL queries for optimal efficiency.
• Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands, Clustering and AlwaysOn databases
• Strong knowledge of indexes, index management, integrity checks, configuration, patching, how statistics work, how indexes are stored, how they can be created and managed effectively.
• SQL Development – ability to write and troubleshoot SQL Code and design (stored procs, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints) and developing/automating database maintenance scripts
• Sound knowledge of the Microsoft Windows Server operating systems with an emphasis on maintaining large data volumes (> 2 TB) on multi-disk arrays.
• Knowledge of administering Microsoft reporting services and developing custom reports SSRS.
• Designing and developing SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages and SSAS systems and Active Directory operation.
• Proven experience in working alongside multiple teams
• Understanding ITIL and deployment/release processes
• Proven experience in large and complex corporate networks
• Microsoft SQL certification required
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to make technical decisions
• A preparedness to take the initiative and a strong desire to achieve results
• Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized and with the ability to prioritize and multitask
