Job Title : Recruitment OfficerDepartment : Human ResourcesReports To : HR ManagerJob Summary : The Recruitment Officer for the restaurant is responsible for the full lifecycle of recruitment, from identifying staffing needs to onboarding new hires.

This role is critical in attracting, selecting, and retaining top talent to ensure the restaurant operates efficiently and provides excellent customer service.

The Recruitment Officer will work closely with department heads to understand their hiring requirements and implement effective recruitment strategies.Key Responsibilities : Workforce Planning & Needs Assessment : Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager and department heads (e.g., Head Chef, Bar Manager, FOH Supervisor) to identify current and future staffing needs.Understand the specific skills, experience, and qualities required for each role (e.g., servers, cooks, bartenders, hosts, dishwashers).Develop and maintain an understanding of peak seasons, events, and operational demands to anticipate staffing fluctuations.Job Posting & Sourcing : Develop compelling and accurate job descriptions that attract qualified candidates.Post job openings on various platforms, including online job boards (e.g., JobStreet, LinkedIn, Indeed), restaurant industry-specific sites, social media, and internal notice boards.Actively source passive candidates through networking, referrals, and professional databases.Explore and utilize creative recruitment channels to reach a diverse pool of applicants.Candidate Screening & Selection : Review resumes and applications to identify candidates who meet the initial requirements.Conduct initial phone screenings or virtual interviews to assess basic qualifications, experience, and cultural fit.Schedule and coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.Participate in interviews, providing guidance and insights to hiring managers.Administer and evaluate skills assessments or practical tests as needed (e.g., cooking trials, serving simulations).Conduct thorough reference checks on selected candidates.Offer Management & Onboarding : Prepare and extend job offers to successful candidates, including details on compensation, benefits, and terms of employment.Negotiate terms of employment when necessary.Ensure all necessary pre-employment paperwork and background checks are completed.Coordinate and facilitate the initial stages of the onboarding process, including scheduling orientation, preparing necessary documentation, and introducing new hires to the team.Recruitment Strategy & Employer Branding : Develop and implement innovative recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent in a competitive market.Promote the restaurant's brand as an employer of choice, highlighting its culture, values, and growth opportunities.Attend job fairs and industry events to represent the restaurant and network with potential candidates.Maintain a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.Record Keeping & Compliance : Maintain accurate and up-to-date recruitment records, including applicant tracking systems (ATS) data.Ensure all recruitment activities comply with labor laws and company policies.Generate recruitment reports and analyze key metrics (e.g., time-to-hire, cost-per-hire).Qualifications : Education : Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.

Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Experience : Proven experience 2-3 years in recruitment, preferably within the hospitality or food and beverage industry.Skills : Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.Strong interviewing and assessment skills.Proficiency in using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and various job boards.Solid understanding of recruitment best practices and labor laws.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Highly organized with strong attention to detail.Proactive and results-oriented.Ability to handle multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.Familiarity with restaurant operations and roles is a significant plus.Working Conditions : Primarily office-based, but may involve occasional travel to job fairs or other recruitment events.May require flexibility in working hours to accommodate candidate interviews or restaurant operational needs.
