Japanese Writer/Translator

We are looking for an enthusiastic Japanese Writer/Translator to join our company. The candidate will be responsible for creating and translating copy and articles for on and offsite campaigns, above and below-the-line marketing channels, as well as our marketing sites.

An effective writer must have excellent and superior writing skills. The candidate must be comfortable with creating content and marketing collateral with the right punch lines.

Translator responsibilities include reading and thoroughly understanding the context of any given material, using specialized dictionaries and translation tools, and then proofreading finished pieces of work. To be successful in this role, the candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be fluent in at least two languages: English, and Japanese (Local).

The goal is to help the company grow by bringing in customers and developing business.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure translated content conveys original meaning and tone
• Cross-reference specialized dictionaries and translation tools to check the quality of translation
• Proofread translated texts for grammar, spelling, and punctuation accuracy
• Follow up with internal team members and clients to ensure translation meets their needs
• Edit content with an eye toward maintaining its original format (ie, font and structure)
• Network with field experts to stay current on new translation tools and practices
• Produce well-researched content for publication online and in print with topics on Sports, casinos, and related areas.
• Organize writing schedules to complete drafts of content and finish projects within deadlines
• Utilize industry best practices and familiarity with the organization's mission to inspire ideas and content
• Communicate and cooperate with the writing team
• Follow an editorial calendar, collaborating with other members of the content production team to ensure timely delivery of materials
• Develop related content for multiple platforms, such as websites, email marketing, product descriptions, videos, and blogs
• Monitor and analyze the performance of key performance indicators (KPIs) to offer suggestions for improvement
• Use search engine optimization (SEO) strategies in writing to maximize the online visibility of a website in search results

Requirements

• Knowledge in iGaming and Sports is a must.
• Proven record of excellent writing demonstrated in a professional portfolio of work experience as a Translator, Interpreter, or similar role
• An impeccable grasp of English and Japanese (Local) including idioms and current trends in slang and expressions, especially in Sports and Casino
• Excellent proofreading skills with the ability to identify grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors
• Ability to work independently with little or no daily supervision
• Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to communicate with clients, colleagues, and management
• Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects with different objectives
• Strict adherence to style guides and the company’s policies for publication
• Good time management skills, including prioritizing, scheduling, and adapting as necessary
• Proficiency with computers, especially office suites programs, such as Google Docs and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoin
• Familiar with SEO (keyword research) and SEM
• Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years’ experience in the iGaming Industry
