Job Summary : The Senior Analog Design Engineer will play a key role in the design and development of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits (ICs) in advanced semiconductor technologies like FinFET.
This role involves the full lifecycle of product development from specification and design through layout, verification, and silicon validation.
The individual will work closely with cross-functional teams including digital design, layout, test, and process engineering.
Key Responsibilities : Analog Circuit Design : Lead the design of high-performance analog and mixed-signal blocks (e.g., amplifiers, ADCs / DACs, LDOs, PLLs, bandgap references, voltage regulators) using CMOS and FinFET technologies.
Simulation and Verification : Perform detailed circuit simulations (spectre, HSPICE, etc.), corner analysis, Monte Carlo simulations, and ensure that designs meet performance, power, area, and timing targets.
Layout Supervision : Collaborate with layout engineers to guide floorplanning, layout optimization, and design rule checks (DRC / LVS).
Post-Silicon Validation : Lead silicon debugging, bring-up, and characterization of designed blocks, ensuring they meet all functional and performance specifications.
Technical Leadership : Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on design methodologies, best practices, and project execution.
Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration : Interface with digital designers, verification teams, and packaging engineers to ensure successful design integration and system-level performance.
Design for Manufacturability (DFM) : Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing and yield; support process development for custom analog technologies.
Documentation : Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including design reviews, test plans, and validation reports.
Key Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or related field.
Master’s / PhD is a plus.
Minimum 7-10 years of experience in analog / mixed-signal IC design.
Proven track record of successful tapeouts in advanced process nodes (28nm, 14nm, 7nm, FinFET technologies).
Expert in analog and mixed-signal IC design methodologies and tools (e.g., Cadence Virtuoso, Synopsys Custom Designer).
Proficiency in analog block design : amplifiers, ADC / DAC, PLLs, LDOs, bandgap references, oscillators.
Strong understanding of FinFET process technology and its impact on analog performance.
Experience in simulation tools (e.g., Spectre, HSPICE, Eldo) and mixed-signal verification.
Knowledge of device physics and its implications for high-performance analog designs.
Familiar with ESD, EMI / EMC concerns, and design techniques to mitigate their impact.
Good understanding of parasitic extraction and its impact on circuit performance.
Nice to Have Skills : Experience in full-chip mixed-signal design and top-level integration.
Familiarity with IP packaging and library characterization.
Knowledge of power management ICs (PMIC) or RF design is a plus.
Understanding of product development lifecycle, from concept to mass production.
