Key purpose of this role (and team)
The performance engineer is responsible for several key activities that facilitate the continuous operation of solar PV systems post-installation. These include system monitoring, remote troubleshooting and technical support, service case tracking, performance analysis and reporting, and project onboarding. This involves working closely with the Service & Quality Assurance Team to manage assets.
Location and work schedule : Eastwood, QC | shifting, not fixed
Key accountabilities of this role
- Utilize monitoring software to analyze system performance and identify faults.
- Prioritize activity to ensure systems are meeting performance levels.
- Liaise with the Service & Quality Assurance Team to track service cases.
- Provide remote technical support for contractors to investigate and resolve faults.
- Review documentation submitted by contractors from scheduled and reactive site visits.
- Produce system performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collate data for LGC claims.
- Liaise with system component suppliers for technical support and warranty claim approval.
- Create a bill of materials for service cases where the installation of components is required.
- Technical onboarding of projects post installation, including design and operation review.
- Interface with the project engineers to improve designs and methodologies based on technical issues identified during the execution of this role.
- Interface with subcontractors, customers, and other parts of the business to achieve desired outcomes.
- Actively record and report on lessons learned to improve processes in asset management and the wider business.
HSE accountabilities :
Ensure contractor engagement is carried out in alignment with the contractor management framework.Assist with the investigation of any incidents and near misses arising from project work in accordance with the Incident, Near Miss, and Hazard Management Procedure.Ensure corrective or improvement actions arising from incident investigations or proactive HSE activities are closed out within the agreed timeframes.Support the HSE function in the delivery of initiatives designed to uplift safety outcomes.Qualifications, key skills and experience required
Bachelor of Photovoltaic / Renewable Energy Engineering (or similar)At least 2 years of experience in Solar PV System design and / or monitoringExpert knowledge in Solar PV System monitoring software with proven experience troubleshooting system issuesExcellent technical and practical knowledge of Solar PV System design, installation and operationProficient with relevant Australian Standards related to PV installationsExceptional organizational skillsFluid command in written and oral English communication skillsAdvanced knowledge and experience of MS OfficeOutstanding problem-solving capabilities & adaptability
