Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Remote Medical Scribe to join the healthcare team. The ideal candidate will accurately document patient encounters in real-time, assisting healthcare providers by managing electronic health records (EHR) and ensuring the highest quality of patient care. This position offers the flexibility to work from home while making a significant impact on the efficiency and effectiveness of medical services.

Job Responsibilities

  • Document Patient Encounters : Accurately and efficiently transcribe medical histories, physical examinations, diagnoses, procedures, and treatment plans during patient visits.
  • Manage Electronic Health Records (EHR) : Update and maintain patient records in the EHR system, ensuring all information is complete and accurately recorded.
  • Real-Time Data Entry : Enter patient information into the EHR system in real-time, supporting healthcare providers during consultations.
  • Coordinate with Medical Team : Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure seamless patient care and accurate documentation.
  • Assist with Chart Reviews : Review and edit patient charts for completeness and accuracy, ensuring all documentation meets regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Maintain Confidentiality : Handle patient information with the utmost confidentiality and in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Administrative Support : Perform various administrative tasks as needed to support the healthcare team, including scheduling appointments and managing correspondence.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a medical scribe or in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required. Familiarity with medical terminology and EHR systems is a plus.
  • Excellent typing and transcription skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency with EHR systems and general computer literacy
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
  • Certifications : Certified Medical Scribe Specialist (CMSS) certification is an advantage but not required.
  • HIPAA certification is preferred

    • System Requirements

  • At least 15mbps for the main internet and at least 10mbps for backup
  • A desktop or laptop that has an i5 processor with at least 8 GB RAM and an i3 processor for backup
  • Note : Back-ups should still be able to function when there is a power interruption
