This is a remote position.

Role Name :   Pharmacy Support Specialist

Schedule :

  • Part-time (40 hours per week)
  • Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm with 1 hour of unpaid break
  • Client Timezone :   Central Time (Chicago area)

Job Description

This exciting healthcare support role combines the precision of prescription processing with the personal touch of patient care communication. You’ll serve as a vital link between patients, healthcare providers, and pharmacy operations, ensuring seamless medication management and exceptional customer service. Working with cutting-edge VoIP technology and pharmacy management systems, you’ll handle both administrative tasks and direct patient interaction, making a real difference in people’s health and well-being. This position offers the unique opportunity to develop expertise in healthcare operations while maintaining the flexibility of remote work, with potential for professional growth as the business expands.

Responsibilities

  • Process prescriptions and manage prescription-related administrative workflows with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Provide exceptional customer service by answering incoming patient calls through advanced VoIP phone systems
  • Proactively communicate with patients via outgoing calls to update them on medication status, pickup readiness, and important prescription information
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers and doctor’s offices to obtain necessary prescription information and provide updates as needed
  • Navigate and utilize pharmacy management software systems through secure remote access
  • Handle patient inquiries with professionalism and empathy, ensuring positive healthcare experiences
  • Support daily pharmacy operations during critical early morning hours when administrative tasks are prioritized
  • Transition seamlessly between administrative duties and patient communication throughout the workday
  • Requirements

  • Excellent English communication skills with clear articulation for professional patient and healthcare provider interactions
  • Healthcare or medical terminology experience preferred, with willingness to learn pharmacy-specific processes
  • Comfort working with pharmacy management software, VoIP systems, and remote access technologies
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection to ensure seamless system access and crystal-clear phone communications
  • Professional phone manner and customer service orientation for patient-facing interactions
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, essential for prescription processing and patient safety
  • Self-motivated and reliable work style suitable for remote healthcare support role
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality and healthcare privacy standards
