What you'll do :
As a Tax Accountant , you will be responsible for managing and ensuring accurate preparation, review, and filing of tax returns for the company and its shared services operations. This role supports compliance with local tax regulations, assists in internal reporting, and coordinates with various departments to ensure timely and accurate submission of tax requirements. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and up-to-date knowledge of local tax laws and compliance procedures.
Key responsibilities for this role include :
- Prepare and file tax returns accurately and on time (e.g., VAT, income tax, withholding tax, and other statutory obligations).
- Ensure full compliance with BIR and other government regulatory requirements.
- Assist in tax planning and forecasting to improve tax efficiency.
- Review financial transactions and documentation to ensure adherence to tax regulations.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary tax-related documentation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all tax filings and payments.
- Coordinate with clients, partner companies, and relevant agencies regarding tax matters and inquiries.
- Stay updated on the Philippines' tax laws and provide recommendations to management.
- Collaborate with the finance team in preparing monthly and annual financial reports related to taxation.
- Oversee statutory and regulatory compliance with agencies such as PEZA / BOI, BIR, SEC, and PSA.
- Complete assigned month-end closing activities within established deadlines.
- Participate in financial and compliance audits to ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations.
- Perform ad hoc tasks and special projects as required by management.
Successful candidates must have :
Bachelors degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred but not required.At least 4+ years of experience in tax preparation, compliance, or accounting (preferably in a BPO, shared services, or accounting firm environment).Strong understanding of Philippine tax laws and experience with BIR filings.Proficient in accounting systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, or SAP.Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.Work Arrangements :
