Job Overview
This role is responsible for leading and executing third-party audits specific to the automotive industry, in accordance with IATF 16949 and related standards. The position also supports auditor training, client engagement, and ensures strict adherence to regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or other relevant technical fields as required by the automotive industry
- Certified as a Registered Lead Auditor (RLA), meeting IATF and internationally recognized accreditation body requirements
- Minimum 4 years of experience in the automotive sector , with at least 2 years in quality assurance, quality control, or IATF 16949 auditing
- Strong working knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001 , and related automotive quality standards
- Must have Registered Lead Auditor (RLA) certification from IRCA.
- Experience conducting third-party audits or working within a certification or auditing body is an advantage
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Computer literate and proficient in preparing audit-related documentation and reports
- Demonstrated ability to lead audit teams and provide mentorship to junior auditors
Roles and Responsibilities
Audit Planning and Execution
Lead the full audit cycle in compliance with global and IATF-specific proceduresReview client capability and proposal worksheets before engagementConduct desk studies of client quality management systems and prepare detailed audit plans, checklists, and itinerariesPerform and lead on-site audits in accordance with IATF 16949 and other relevant standardsReview audit packages and reports submitted by junior auditors or those under supervisionRaise and document findings or non-conformities during closing meetingsApprove audit reports and ensure the quality and completeness of audit documentationClient Engagement and Technical Support
Address client inquiries related to automotive quality management systems and IATF-related standardsConduct pre-renewal visits and client consultations to ensure ongoing complianceAssist in maintaining and expanding client relationships by providing technical support and insights during visits or meetingsSupport business development teams in presenting services to prospective clientsTraining and Development
Customize and deliver training programs related to IATF 16949 and related standardsSupport the development and assessment of auditors under trainingProvide technical guidance and serve as a mentor to audit team membersCompliance and Regulatory Alignment
Ensure full compliance with IATF rules, regulations, and procedural updatesMaintain high standards of integrity and professionalism in line with industry codes of conductMonitor and report on health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices during auditsSupport incident reporting, risk assessments, and ensure corrective actions are followedActively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, health, safety, environment, and energy (QHSEE) policies
