Role Summary :
The Head of IT leads development, management, and implementation of the company’s IT strategy to support the overall business goal. This includes the design, implementation, and governance of the organization’s network infrastructure and IT risk management framework. Further, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring high availability, security, and compliance across all technology environments, while proactively identifying and mitigating IT risks to protect business continuity and data integrity.
Key Responsibilities :
IT Strategy and Leadership
Develops the company’s IT strategy in alignment with the business goals / objectives. This includes the design and development of IT’s incident response protocols and network monitoring to ensure availability of critical systems and services, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
Leads the company’s digital transformation to enhance business and process efficiencies. This includes upgrades, cloud migrations, others as applicable.
Provides information on emerging / new technologies and digital opportunities.
Defines and manages the department’s budget ensuring cost-effectiveness and ROI on tech investments.
IT Operations and Infrastructure
Leads and manages the team’s day-to-day activities – people, networks, systems and software (as applicable).
Leads the Department’s optimization efforts to enhance network performance and cost including ensuring robustness and scalability of IT infrastructure.
Leads the planning, deployment, and maintenance of the company’s network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, etc).
Establishes the team’s SLA and other KPIs, including project timelines, deliverables, and budget (as necessary).
Cybersecurity and Risk Management
Partners with the HQ team in defining and creating the company’s IT risk management strategy as applicable to local.
Leads security incident response in partnership and coordination with the legal and compliance team.
Ensures the compliance to data protection law / regulations.
Compliance
Drafts, manages, and implements IT policies and procedures. Ensures that the company is audit ready from both internal and external stakeholders.
Conducts external studies, benchmarking, and stays up to date with industry standards.
Ensures compliance to both internal and external standards and regulations.
Oversees disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity planning (BCP) for all IT systems.
Risk and Compliance
Identifies risks and creates mitigation strategies.
Adheres and complies with legal, regulatory, and internal controls and standards to reduce corruption related risks and other possible internal and external financial losses.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and risk management ideally in BPOs, banks, fintech, digital lending, or fast-paced digital industries
5+ years of experience in leadership or management role (network operations and risk management) with at least 4 direct reports
Experience designing a secure and high-availability network
Willingness to report to work, onsite 5X a week (Ortigas Center)
Skills :
Strong understanding and expertise IT infrastructure and network
Strong knowledge and experience on operation and maintenance for Windows or Linux system. Especially for Microsoft related AD, DNS, DHCP etc.
Good knowledge on Virtualization platform operation and maintenance, such as VMware, Hyper-V.
Basic knowledge on Cloud products, like Azure, M365.
Strong understanding of risk assessment and network infrastructure and security best practices
Understand the mechanisms, path selection, configuration, and troubleshooting of protocols such as RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP.
Understand various network protocols; possess knowledge of multi-layer switching technologies like VLAN, VTP, RSTP, QoS, HSRP, VRRP, IPv6, multicast.
Able to perform basic protocol analysis using tools like Wireshark.
Understand configuration of technologies such as application-based ACLs, NAT, load balancing, redistribution, policy-based routing.
Understand hardware equipment in the data center, such as firewalls, switches, servers, and others.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong analytical skills, and data-driven mindset
Experience in dealing with different nationalities and working in cross-functional teams
