Job Summary :
The QA / QC Officer is responsible for overseeing and implementing the quality assurance and quality control program on construction projects to ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with approved plans, specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements. The role ensures that workmanship, materials, and construction processes meet Philippine construction codes, project requirements, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities :
- Implement and monitor the project’s Quality Management System (QMS) based on project specifications, local codes, and applicable standards (e.g., DPWH, NBC, ASEAN standards, ISO 9001 if applicable).
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure compliance during construction.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks for materials, workmanship, and construction processes at all stages of the project.
- Coordinate and witness material testing (e.g., concrete compressive strength, soil compaction, rebar testing) in coordination with third-party laboratories.
- Maintain detailed quality documentation, including inspection reports, material test results, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action logs.
- Identify and report deviations from approved plans and specifications and recommend corrective measures.
- Ensure that subcontractors and workers adhere to quality standards and procedures on-site.
- Participate in internal quality audits, toolbox meetings, and coordination meetings with the project team.
- Conduct quality orientations and briefings for site personnel and subcontractors.
- Support the handover and project closeout process by preparing as-built documents, punch lists, and final quality reports.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.Licensed Civil Engineer (preferred but not always required, depending on project scale).At least 2–5 years of experience in quality assurance / quality control in construction projects (e.g., vertical structures, roads, bridges, site development).Familiarity with local building codes (e.g., National Building Code of the Philippines, DPWH Blue Book), quality standards, and inspection / testing procedures.Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and quality standards.Proficient in documentation, reporting, and use of QA / QC tools and templates.Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to identify and resolve quality issues proactively.Certifications (Preferred but Not Required) :
Construction Occupational Safety and Health (COSH) certificate from DOLE-accredited training providers.Training or certification in ISO 9001 : 2015 QMS (if applicable to the company’s quality management system).Knowledge of DPWH quality standards for government projects (if applicable).
