Overview

GCash is seeking a Security Platform Engineer to design and secure cloud and on‑premises platforms, support vulnerability management, security monitoring, and compliance initiatives. This role focuses on building secure infrastructure, managing cloud security, and contributing to governance efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and Implementing Secure Platforms : Collaborate with development and operations teams to design and implement secure infrastructure.
  • Vulnerability Management and Patching : Assess and remediate vulnerabilities across platforms, conduct regular vulnerability scans, analyze results, and coordinate timely patching and configuration hardening.
  • Security Monitoring and Incident Response Support : Assist in forensic analysis, containment, and eradication efforts by providing technical insights into the platform’s architecture during incidents.
  • Cloud Security Expertise : Secure cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) by implementing cloud security best practices, configuring cloud-native security services, managing IAM, and ensuring compliance with cloud security frameworks.
  • Compliance and Governance : Contribute to ensuring platforms and systems adhere to relevant security policies and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of security principles, network protocols, operating systems (Linux / Windows), and application security.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (Python, Go, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Experience with security tools such as vulnerability scanners, SIEMs, IDS / IPS, WAFs, and EDR solutions.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security services.
  • Knowledge of automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef).
  • Experience with CI / CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, SANS GIAC, cloud security certifications) are valued.
